The earthily named country band The Shit Kickers offers up a helping of robust tales and music to dance to. In songs based on The Spoon River Anthology by Edgar Lee Masters (1868–1950), the deceased citizens of a fictitious small town describe their lives as they see them. The sombre music is by Panu Pärssinen. After this macabre melancholy, a country hoedown gives listeners a chance to dance their cares away.
