The orchestra conducting class of the Sibelius Academy is one of the crown jewels of one of the world’s most distinguished music universities. Sakari Oramo became Professor of Conducting in 2020. Here, his students engage the Tapiola Sinfonietta in Beethoven’s inspiring, energetic Second Symphony and, for something completely different, in the fantastic poetry of Ma mère l’oye and the serene Neo-Classicism of Le tombeau de Couperin, both by Ravel.
