Art Testers

Art Testers is a major project of the Finnish Cultural Foundation that involves taking every 8th grader in Finland to an arts event. The Tapiola Sinfonietta is eagerly with the programme. Come feel the beat in the Classical Bazaar with the orchestra and beatboxer Felix Zenger!

Welcome to the Classical Bazaar!

Who says classical music is difficult and elitist? The Tapiola Sinfonietta has planned a Classical Bazaar concert for 8th graders, featuring world-famous beatboxer Felix Zenger. The first concerts were held at the Espoo Cultural Centre on 22–23 November 2017, and the next ones will be on 7–8 February 2018.

Doctor T.

Tero ‘Doctor T.’ Toivonen plays Principal Horn with the Tapiola Sinfonietta but is also a multi-instrumentalist, a teacher and a committed ice hockey fan. A couple of years ago he completed a doctorate in music about audience outreach work – what else? Tero’s school gigs have involved thousands of pupils in dozens of Espoo schools to date. Make Tero happy: book him for a school gig!

Doctor T. comes to town

In an interactive session lasting the length of a class period, Tero demonstrates his musical skills and describes his work with the Tapiola Sinfonietta. He travels with an electrically amplified horn and a pink bass guitar.
